Christopher Profera
With over 12 years of experience as an optician, Christopher Profera completed the National Academy of Opticianry Career Progression Program and earned ABO certification in 2018. A Reno resident for 19 years, Christopher has worked in leading optometry offices in the area, witnessing firsthand the shifts in the healthcare landscape. Discouraged by the diminishing focus on patient care, he found renewed purpose in joining NVision Optix, drawn by Dr. Donahue’s shared dedication to patient-first values.
For Christopher, it’s all about building lasting relationships and delivering eye care without compromise. “I love the independent frame lines and independent labs that we’re able to work with without limitations from insurance companies. It truly allows us to put our patients’ needs first and find them a frame and lens that works for their lifestyle and aesthetic.”

Pixie Tyburczy
Pixie has been an Optician since 2013, beginning her career at the famed Modern Eye optometry office in Philadelphia, PA. Her background as a former vintage store owner made for a seamless transition into high-end frames and fittings. She relocated to Reno with her husband in 2022 and quickly immersed herself in the Northern Nevada eye care industry.
“I worked for a year at a local optometrist and was approached to join NVision by Christopher. For me, I had been looking for an office that dealt with truly high-end, boutique optical. You can tell the difference in the quality of the frames when they are handcrafted designs versus being mass produced. Christopher and I spent months curating our luxury eyewear collection and 80+ percent of our frame lines are handmade and truly unique.”
